The Pyrenees.
The central Pyrenees is a mountain walkers paradise, There are no fewer than 60 peaks over 3000 metres, most of which are accessible to a determined walker and scrambler. Alternatively, the valleys and lakes make for superb days out. Compared to the Alps the Pyrenees have managed to avoid mass tourism and as a consequence there are still quiet secluded valleys and rarely visited peaks too be found. Spring sees the high meadows covered in alpine plants, the summer brings long balmy days for lazing by the high mountain lakes and autumn shows its arrival in the colours of the leaves, so no matter what time of year you come there is always something to appreciate.

Traverse Holidays bases itself in Bagneres De Luchon, more commonly known as Luchon. Its proximity to the mountains and the border with Spain gives us the opportunity to show you the very best the Pyrenees has to offer. Luchon is a gracious town with wide avenues lined by elegant mansions, hotels and lime trees for shade, an ideal place to sit and relax after a hard day in the mountains.
